Network International hold fight against fraud event
As Dubai continues to make rapid strides in the financial and the IT world, banks and financial institutions in the region are getting more and more innovative to make things easier for their customers.
An ever-expanding, floating population makes the UAE market a prime candidate for fraudsters looking for loopholes and easy escape routes when it comes to e-transactions. Proper measures to safeguard and protect the revolutionary new methods being used are high on the list of the visionaries structuring the new image of the region. It was precisely to recognise the custodians of this new way of life that Network International, the region's leading EMV-certified payment card solutions provider, held an impressive ceremony at the Jumeirah Branch of Emirates Bank's Global Training Centre.
Dubai Police, MasterCard, Visa International, National Bank of Dubai, MashreqBank and Citibank were recognised for their stellar efforts in the fight against fraud in the UAE by Network International. Established as an independent card solutions company more than a decade ago, Network International has evolved into a leading credit card and payment services company committed to meeting the needs of financial institutions, corporate businesses and individuals alike and today stands as the region's most comprehensive card solutions provider. Network International handed out awards to the Dubai Police Officers in the presence of Major Abdulla Al Shaer and Major Khalid Al Kawari.
Presided over by Mr. Abdulla Qassem, Chairman, and Mr. Ram Chari, Senior Manager, Network International, the theme of the function was in sync with the efforts made by Network International in making the UAE a safer, more convenient place for e-commerce. With a significant investment in state-of-the-art technology that is tailored to meet the specific geographical frameworks and independent business needs of the region, Network International is in the forefront of the campaign against credit card fraud and highly appreciative of the efforts made by the Dubai Police in this matter, and this feeling is mutual. In his speech Major Al Kawari praised Network International for their dedication, professionalism and co-operation with the police and thanked the various banks and credit card issuers for helping curtail instances of fraud.
By organising fraud forums , Network International has created a greater awareness and understanding of frauds and emerging fraud trends in the market, thus aiding the police and various organisations by keeping them one step ahead of the fraudsters. Speaking on the occasion Mr. Abdullah Qassem of Network International said, 'We would like to take this opportunity to thank the police along with banks and card operators for their efforts in combating the illegal use of credit cards. Together we make a powerful team with the ability to control corruption.'
Network International's investment in technology includes the Proactive Risk Manager (PRM), one of the most effective fraud-fighting softwares available. It offers tremendous scope and flexibility in detecting and limiting both issuing and acquiring fraud.
A special recognition award was also given to Mr Muwafaq Jafari, Security Officer at Emirates Bank. All in all, the function highlighted the combined effort being made to eliminate the unseen menace of cyber crime, and encouraging those who do so can only further the cause. |
